Many people are terrified by the notion of having to do public speaking, the reason for this is they fear the sound of their own voice, whilst this is quite natural a few things can be done stop this fear.
The first thing not to do is to worry about the number of people you'll be speaking to, just focus on one person in the middle of the room, don't gaze at them but use them as your main focal point. Secondly, make sure that you type out your notes for the speech, don't hand write them. The reason for this is so you can see them easily, make them clear and concise. Please take some time to write your speech, make the words mean something and don't forget to make the speech memorable.

Most people who are organizing a function tend to look at the cost first even before looking at the standard of fun they want to have for the special occasion.
In this day and age, people focus on the retail side of the preparation such as table centers and decor when the most memorable part of the occasion is more centered around things such as entertainment and great food. Let me give you an example; a client of ours spent around $1,000 on our services and spent very little on table and chair decor however still had a memorable event. This client spent more on the emotional benefits rather than material benefits such as chair covers. Activity: Sit down and write down five words that make you happy, think about these same words when planning your next celebration, you'll be surprised what words you come up with. Music preferences are an individuals choice, however, some people choose the wrong song for a special moment that just doesn't suit the appropriate moments meaning such as a first dance. Every song selection should be carefully thought about not just a rushed judgment, take the time to listen to a song in full and during a time when you're not in a hurry or stressed. The chorus of a song might have the right meaning but the rest of the lyrics may be completely out of step to the moment you're creating. Below is my video on the topic. A wedding can be an enjoyable experience for all those who attend but to make it that way it pays to have some fun created to make it a memorable occasion.
The secrete is to have a great MC, a person build anticipation right from the time the guests arrive in the reception for pre-dinner drinks. Always ask your MC to meet all the guests before introducing the bridal party into the room. Your MC should introduce the bridal party in the room in a fun and exciting way, if that's the type of introduction you want. If you're after a more laid back introduction you should inform your MC of your wishes before the day of your wedding. Music can also be part of your introductions but make sure the music you choose suits the MC's voice and matches the mood you want to start your reception. Turn those moments into great memories. |
